The word “sauna” comes from the Finnish and means “sweating room”.
One of the first findings of mankind was that heat is beneficial and healing. Saunas are therefore an ancient cultural asset and can be traced back to the Stone Age.

In Germany, sauna bathing successfully entered the bathing culture with the 1936 Olympic Games and has been an integral part of social life ever since. Taking a sauna leads to physical and mental relaxation, cleansing and detoxification of the body. It can also increase physical performance.
